Temasek's Png Chin Yee to Join CapitaLand Investment's Board

Png Chin Yee, president of Temasek Portfolio Companies at Singapore's state investor Temasek Holdings, is set to join the board of CapitaLand Investment Ltd., the Singapore-listed real estate asset manager, according to people familiar with the matter. The appointment would deepen the ties between two of Singapore's most influential investment institutions.

A rising figure at Temasek

Png oversees Temasek Portfolio Companies, the unit that held roughly 40% of Temasek's S$518 billion ($406 billion) investment portfolio as of March this year. She moved into the role in April as part of a broader overhaul at Temasek aimed at sharpening its investment focus and boosting returns, after previously serving as the firm's chief financial officer.

CapitaLand Investment, one of Asia's largest real estate managers, has periodically refreshed its board as it expands its funds-management business beyond its traditional Singapore and China property base. Adding a senior Temasek executive would give the company a direct line to one of the region's largest pools of capital, though neither Temasek nor CapitaLand Investment has publicly confirmed the appointment.
